Tempona Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 30, 2026 · Last updated: November 1, 2026

1. Introduction

Tempona ("the app") is a metronome app for Android developed by Monadot Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. The app has no sign-up or login, and we do not operate a server that receives your data. The app does not use analytics or crash-reporting services. Ads and purchases are provided by Google, which processes some data so that they can work, as described below.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect personal information ourselves. The app stores your settings only on your device (section 3). Google processes some information when it shows ads (sections 4–5) and when you buy Tempona Premium (section 6). The app does not use the microphone and does not record audio; it only plays metronome sounds.

3. Information stored on your device

This information is kept in the app's private storage and is not sent to us. If Android backup is turned on, Android may include this app data in your device backup to your Google Account, according to your device's backup settings.

Sharing presets. When you tap "Share" on a folder or preset, the app builds a text message with the preset names and rhythm settings (tempo, time signature, rhythm, accents, sound) and a code, copies it to the clipboard and opens Android's share sheet. The message does not contain your volume, practice settings, theme or purchase information. It goes only to the app you choose (for example a messenger, email or SMS app) and to the people you send it to; what happens to it there is governed by that app. It is not sent to us. The message may contain a link to monadot.github.io: the presets are in the part after "#", which browsers do not send to the website. If Tempona is installed, the link opens it directly; otherwise the page opens like any web page (GitHub, which hosts it, receives the usual request data such as your IP address, but not the presets), and the page itself sends nothing. To import presets, the app reads the clipboard once only when you tap "Paste to import", or receives text that you share to Tempona from another app. It never reads the clipboard when it starts or returns to the foreground, and it saves nothing from that text except the presets you confirm to import.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows a banner ad on the main screen. If you tap the option to try a Premium theme, a rewarded ad is shown, and the theme is unlocked for 24 hours after you finish watching it. Rewarded ads are never shown without your tap. Ads are provided by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob).

According to Google, the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares your IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), app interactions (such as app launches, taps and video views), diagnostic information (such as app launch time and hang rate) and device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID), for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. On supported Android versions, the SDK may also use the Android Privacy Sandbox advertising features (Topics and attribution). This data is encrypted in transit. Ads do not have access to your presets or settings.

After you buy Tempona Premium, the app stops requesting ads.

5. Advertising consent (Google User Messaging Platform)

The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to ask for consent where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland). Ads are requested only after this step. Depending on your choice, Google may show personalized or non-personalized ads. Where required, a "Privacy choices" option in the app's settings lets you review or change your choice at any time.

6. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)

Tempona Premium (tempona_premium) is a one-time purchase that removes ads and unlocks all Premium themes permanently. The purchase is handled by Google Play. Your payment details are entered into Google Play and are never shared with the app or with us.

When you buy or restore Premium, Google Play tells the app on your device whether the purchase is complete, together with the product ID and a purchase token. The app checks this on your device, unlocks Premium and confirms (acknowledges) the purchase with Google Play. Through Google Play Console, Google makes order information available to us (such as the order number, product, date, price and country), which we use only to handle support and refund requests.

7. Third-party services

8. How we use information

9. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone ourselves. The information described in sections 4–6 is processed directly by Google as the provider of ads and payments. Preset messages you share go only to the app and people you choose (section 3). We may disclose information if required by law.

10. Data security

Settings stay in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. The app does not send them to us. Google's SDKs encrypt the data they send in transit. Payments are processed by Google Play. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep the data we handle to the minimum the app needs.

11. Data retention and deletion

12. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to object to it. Because we do not hold personal information on a server, most requests concern data held by Google, which you can manage through your Google Account and Google's privacy tools. You can also contact us using the address below, and we will help as far as we can.

13. Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. International data processing

Google may process the information described in sections 4–6 on servers in countries other than yours, including the United States, under its own safeguards for international transfers.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted at this address, and the dates above will be updated.
