JoyGPS Privacy Policy
JoyGPS ("the app") is a location simulation tool for Android developed by Monadot Studio ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and how you can control it. The app has no sign-up or login, and we do not operate a server that receives your data. Some third-party services described below process data so that the map, ads, and subscriptions can work.
1. Information processed only on your device
- Your device's last known location: With your permission, the app reads the last location your device already knows, to set the starting point of the simulation and the initial map position. The app does not continuously track your location and does not send it to us.
- Simulated location: The location you choose is provided to the Android location system so that other apps receive it as the device location. How those apps use it is governed by their own policies.
- Favorites, saved routes, folders, and settings: Stored in the app's internal storage, including the last simulated location and speed so you can continue later.
- Move history: The app keeps up to 100 of your most recent moves, each with the coordinates, the time of the move, and the favorite's name if you moved to a favorite. This history is stored only in the app's internal storage on your device and is not sent to us. It remains after you close the app or restart your device, is excluded from Android automatic backup, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Clipboard: The app reads the clipboard only when you tap a paste button, to read coordinates. It writes to the clipboard only when you tap a copy button.
2. Third-party services
- Map (OpenFreeMap): To display the map, the app downloads the map style, map tiles, and fonts from
tiles.openfreemap.org. These requests include your IP address and, through the requested tiles, the map area being viewed. According to OpenFreeMap's privacy policy, normal access logs do not contain IP addresses; error logs may contain the IP address and requested URL and are deleted after 7 days; if abuse or a security threat is detected, IP logging may be enabled temporarily for up to 30 days; no cookies or tracking technologies are used; and Cloudflare may be used as a CDN.
https://openfreemap.org/privacy/ - Place search (Android geocoding service): When you search for a place, the search text is passed to Android's built-in geocoding service, which may send it to Google (on devices with Google Play services) to find matching locations. The app does not store your search text.
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy - Ads (Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform): For users without a subscription, the app shows a banner ad, rewarded ads, and interstitial ads. According to Google, the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares your IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), app interactions (such as app launches, taps, and video views), diagnostic information (such as app launch time and hang rate), and device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID), for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. This data is encrypted in transit. In regions where consent is required (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), Google's consent form is shown, and you can change your choice at any time in the app's settings ("Privacy settings"). The app does not request ads for subscribers.
How Google uses data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites - Subscription payments (Google Play): Payments are processed by Google Play. The app and we do not receive your card number or other payment details.
- Subscription status (RevenueCat): To check your subscription and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes your purchase history (products, purchase, renewal, and expiration information), an anonymous user ID created automatically by the app (shown as "Support ID" in the app's settings), and your language and currency codes. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or phone number from the app, and the app turns off RevenueCat's automatic collection of device identifiers such as the advertising ID. This data is encrypted in transit.

3. Backups
- Android backup: The app allows Android's automatic backup. If you have turned on Google backup on your device, the app's internal data (favorites, routes, folders, settings, and the last simulated location) may be included in your Google account backup and restored when you reinstall the app or set up a new device. This backup is handled by Google under your device's backup settings; we cannot access it.
- Google Block Store (RevenueCat): If you have made a purchase, the RevenueCat library stores your anonymous user ID in Google Block Store (a storage on your device managed by Google, which can be backed up to your Google account). This is used to reconnect your purchases after you reinstall the app. If you have no purchase history, it is not stored.
- Backup files you create: In Settings > Support > Backup and restore, you can save your favorites, routes, and folders (names, coordinates, route points, icons, and creation and modification times) to a file. The file contains no move history, settings, subscription, or advertising information. You choose where the file is saved using Android's file picker, and the app does not request storage permission. The app does not send the file to us or to any server. If you choose a cloud storage location (for example, Google Drive), the file is uploaded to that service under its own terms. When you restore, the app reads only the file you select. Keep backup files safe, as they contain the places you saved.
4. Permissions
- Location (precise and approximate): To read your device's last known location as described above. The app does not request background location permission.
- Mock location app (Developer options): Lets the app provide simulated locations to the system. You set this yourself in Developer options.
- Foreground service (location): Keeps the simulation you started running while you use other apps, together with a visible notification. You can stop it at any time from the notification.
- Notifications: Shows the running status and stop buttons.
- Display over other apps: Shows the joystick and control buttons on top of other apps.
- Internet and network state: For the map, ads, and subscription checks.
- Advertising ID (added by the ads library): Used for ads as described above.
- Google Play billing: For subscription purchases.
5. Retention and deletion
- Data stored in the app is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings. Copies in your Google backup follow your Google account settings. Backup files you created are not deleted with the app; you can delete them yourself where you saved them.
- Subscription data (RevenueCat): To request deletion, email us with your Support ID from the app's settings. We will request deletion of the matching customer record from RevenueCat. Deletion is processed by RevenueCat and may not be completed immediately.
- Deleting data does not cancel your subscription. To stop payments, cancel the subscription yourself in Google Play's subscription management. A subscription that is not canceled may continue to renew through Google Play, and using "Restore purchases" later may reconnect the subscription information.
- Ad-related data follows Google's policies. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
6. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted at this address, and the effective date above will be updated.
